Sony Pictures; Directed by Mike Tollin
Rated PG; 2003
Based on real life events,
this thoughtful film follows the unusual relationship of high school football
coach Harold Jones and a local man named Radio who is illiterate and mentally
challenged. Radio was long the target
of joke by the community but their attitudes are changed when they see his
growth under the coach’s guidance. The
two began a relationship in a small town in South Carolina in 1964 and that has
amazingly continued through to today.
